Before Christmas Day, Pep Guardiola’s side face Leeds, Fulham, Sunderland, Crystal Palace, West Ham, and Pep Guardiola’s side will have a positive run over their next five games.

Statman Dave and Pras Singhal, both experts in the FPL, agree that City starters are essential for your team over the upcoming month.

What players, though, should you pick?

Who else but Haaland is the obvious choice?

Pras Singhal: Manchester City now have a run of excellent fixtures that includes them playing West Ham, Sunderland twice, and Leeds in the next seven gameweeks following their difficult away defeat to Newcastle. Leeds, their home team, have conceded 13 goals in their last six league games and haven’t kept a clean sheet away in 2025-26.

Who else can we target? Erling Haaland is the obvious choice, and there might be a triple captaincy shout in many of the upcoming weeks.

Given his security of minutes, Josko Gvardiol ($5.8 million) is the best option for a defensive position, but Nico O’Reilly ($5 million) at left-back offers an excellent attacking threat with one goal and two assists this year.

In the Champions League in midweek, Rayan Ait-Nouri, his rival, failed to impress, and the result is a lot like O’Reilly’s loss.

Phil Foden (£8m), who has started nine league games in a row and averages 86.7 minutes per game, is another safer choice in midfield. He only has two attacking returns to support his efforts, though.

Don’t worry about it; stick with Dias.

Statman Dave Ruben Dias will be the only other Manchester City player I’ll be getting, besides Haaland. Dias is the only player who has played more minutes in Haaland. O’Reilly’s inclusion is a joy, but Ait-Nouri is returning, which poses a rotational problem.

Dias has been playing at the moment, touch wood, and you have a run of Leeds, Fulham, Sunderland, Crystal Palace, West Ham for £5.5 million, which is not a lot of money this season.
