Stacey Dooley admits that having daughter Minnie has a slight impact on her approach to interviewing since taking over the U&, W series for a sixth series.
Stacey Dooley returns for the sixth season of her beloved U&, W series Stacey Dooley Sleeps Over, an intimate show that explores extraordinary people’s lives beyond the headlines.
While Stacey Dooley approaches each episode with an open mind, her perspective has inevitably been shaped by becoming a mum. She shares two-year-old daughter Minnie with her partner Kevin Clifton.
Has motherhood altered how she thinks? You would have to ask my director, she says, “I’m sure it probably has.” “Maybe subconsciously,” she says. What if I found myself in this situation with my daughter, or if my daughter found herself in this circumstance, is the question you can’t help but think about when you’re interviewing or spending time with parents or mothers?
Even Stacey finds the show’s appeal to be awestruck. She says, “I can’t quite believe we’re on our sixth series, which is brilliant but wild.” It’s a remarkable achievement and a testament to how popular the series is.
She has always felt comfortable with the “sleepover” format. She claims that it’s “very intimate” and “it’s immediately intimate.” And she promises some jaw-dropping scenes with the current season’s lineup.

First up is Lily Phillips – a high-profile adult content creator with a huge following and a knack for stirring up controversy. Stacey knew exactly what to expect.
She says, “I leaned into that knowing that Lily Phillips was going to be a very adventurous weekend, and I knew it was going to be quite full on.” Every day, I enjoy creating episodes that take my life completely away. That’s how beautiful it is.
Stacey looked beyond just the headline-grabbing soundbites to uncover the hidden gem of the ring. She had a good time, was very accommodating, and had a real sweetness, Stacey says, because her statements are so outrageous. However, there is a scene at the movie’s conclusion. That aspect of her has never really stood out to us.
From Lilly’s unapologetic glamour in London, Stacey heads to Essex to meet Barrie Drewitt-Barlow – Britain’s first gay man to be legally recognised as a father.
A whirlwind of opulence filled the place. To be honest, I felt like I was staying in a resort in Marbella! Staff was everywhere when I arrived, and it was “bonkers,” Stacey recalls. “Undoubtedly a million miles from where I live,” I say.
More than just lavish surroundings, she enjoyed spending time with Barry. Scott and their children were the only people Stacey saw coming into contact with. Stacey says, “All the kids were wonderful, and Scott was very welcoming as well.” His mother was present a lot at the time.
Her final stop is Birmingham, where she spends three days with Marie Buchan, the media-branded “Benefits Queen.” Stacey came away feeling like there was more to Marie than meets the eye.
“It was really worthwhile to spend time with her.” I hope people discover her true selves,” Stacey says. She has experienced “very difficult times” and has had “very difficult times”
The three-part reality series’ filming is a break from daily life, but it also poses a long-term emotional challenge. She claims that if you have a little peace during your first night, it’s heaven. Then you start to go out of town on the third and second nights.
But it is obvious that her efforts are worthwhile. Stacey Dooley Sleeps Over is still as well-known as ever, if the audience’s response is any indication. She claims, “It’s always a joy.”
Everyone has an opinion on the families we’ve met when the cabbie says, “I’ve watched your Jewish family episode” or, “I’ve watched your episodes with the no parenting rules,” when I get in the back of the cab.
The sixth series is a great success and a great accomplishment. She needs a seventh season, is she prepared? The Pope is a Catholic, of course. Do we want more “yes” sleepovers?
