In an effort to sign left-back Andy Robertson, Tottenham have begun discussions with Liverpool.

Robertson, 31, stated last week that he was uncertain about leaving Anfield because he is on a summer contract there.

The Scotland international wants regular action before the World Cup because he has only started four Premier League starts this year.

Spurs have made an approach, according to BBC Sport, but so far, no conclusions have been reached.

Robertson made 363 appearances for Liverpool during Jurgen Klopp’s administration and was signed for £8 million from Hull City in 2017.

Robertson made his most recent appearance on January 17 when Burnley held him to a 1-1 draw.

Robertson offers leadership and experience analysis

Defense is probably the area of Thomas Frank’s comfort when he considers the options available to him in his squad.

Only one of the eight players who has been sidelined by the injuries, Ben Davies, who recently had a broken ankle, is left. Tottenham currently has eight players who are unavailable.

Frank has depth a long way down the line. He has Brazilian Souza, Brazilian Souza, Brazilian Destiny Udogie, Djed Spence, Brazilian Souza, and Djed Spence, who can play left-back alone.

Given that Tottenham’s depleted midfield is a constant issue, choosing Andy Robertson may seem a little surprising given what they actually need.

However, the squad lacks experience, which Spurs do not. The only player who is at least 30 years old is Jose Palinha, who is the only one. Seven of their earliest players are hurt, with four of them.

In the event Robertson’s sale, Liverpool might want to bring Kostas Tsimikas back from his loan at Roma, but Hungary international Kerkez would be the only senior left-back slot for Slot to use.

On Thursday, Tottenham signed Brazilian left-back Souza, and they are already well-stocked in that area.

This season, Thomas Frank’s manager chose Destiny Udogie, with Djed Spence providing cover as well.

Ben Davies was another option, but the Wales international broke his ankle on Sunday and is currently out for the rest of the season.

With 32-year-old Davies the only player over the age of 30, Spurs may want to add experience to their young squad.
