Due to initial fears that Lucas Bergvall could spend up to three months on the sidelines, Tottenham Hotspur are still waiting for a definitive diagnosis on the ankle injury.

The Sweden international was forced out of the game after continuing to play in the 2-0 Champions League win over Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night due to the issue.

Bergvall, 19, will now be out for a significant amount of time, which will be a blow to Thomas Frank, the head coach.

With the club still disclosing how serious Bergvall’s injury is, Spurs medical staff are still assessing the injury.

According to Bergvall, the worst-case scenario for a lay-off of three months is a result of initial tests.

After a disappointing first half of the season under Frank, Spurs are now 14th in the Premier League.

James Maddison, Rodrigo Bentancur, Mohammed Kudus, Dejan Kulusevski, and Ben Davies have all been injured, and the Dane has had to deal with it for a while.
