Sir Elton John, a father-of-two, shared parenting advice with Mark Wright and Olly Murs after admitting to spending his own childhood “walking on eggshells.”
Sir Elton John has given new dads Mark Wright and Olly Murs some sage parenting advice. The music icon, 77, who shares two sons with partner, David Furnish, was speaking to the Heart FM presenters on their breakfast show on Saturday from the London Palladium when he opened up about his own childhood.
He told Mark and Olly to give their kids confidence because they spent a lot of their youth “walking on eggshells” due to their strict upbringing, and he admitted that he spent most of his youth “walking on eggshells” due to his strict upbringing. The actress responded to a question for the “seriously new dads” for parenting advice: “I was raised in a very strict household in the 1950s, after the war, and it was a different kind of situation there. I was raised with the fear of my mother, my father, being hit and smacked, and other such things.

Elton continued:. And I said to David, “I’d never want my kids to grow up in fear,” I said when we were having Zachary. I never wanted to worry about us. In my early years, I was walking on eggshells.
“It wasn’t a bad childhood; it was just a fear of doing wrong,” he said. So David and I responded, “That’s it. We mustn’t make them afraid.
Of course, you must have discipline, but nothing else, besides fear and smacking. And it was flawless. They have done a fantastic job.
Thanking Elton for his advice, Mark, who welcomed daughter, Palma, with wife, Michelle Keegan, earlier this month, gushed: “Aw, amazing tip.”
On Mother’s Day, Mark broke people’s hearts by sharing a unique perspective on his new role as a father with wife Michelle.
The couple’s baby, Palma, was snuggled up in Mark Wright Sr.’s arms while Carol, Carol, Carol, her grandmother, leaped in with a beaming smile in a sweet Instagram photo.
Palma stole the show at the small family gathering while wearing an adorable white suit with her name embroidery.
Michelle’s first mother’s day as a parent was marked by the heartwarming event, making the occasion even more special. What a day filled with all my love in the world, Carol wrote in the caption of the photo. Xx”.
Last year, Olly and his wife Amelia Tank shared photos on Mother’s Day, including his first child, Maddison, with his wife Amelia Tank.
He wrote, “Happy first Mother’s Day to my amazing wife,” in a carousel of adorable images of his daughter with her mother. We love you, Madi and I, and we are extremely fortunate to have you.
