In a UK court on Friday, American R&amp member Chris Brown entered a not-guilty plea to a charge involving an alleged 2023 nightclub brawl.

Brown, 36, reacted to the charge in the London dock, saying, “Not guilty, ma’am,” while donning a dark suit, tie, and glasses.

Following his plea to allegedly attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent, the singer, who is currently on $5 million ($6.7 million) bail, waved to people in the public gallery as he left.

On October 26, 2026, a five to seven-day trial was scheduled to begin.

After being detained in Manchester’s northwestern city for almost a week in May, the singer was taken into custody. He was later released without bail.

If he doesn’t appear in court, he will forfeit the $5 million guarantee set out in his bail.

Additionally, he was given permission to continue his scheduled international tour, which kicked off on June 8 in Amsterdam.

The singer, who had a troubled relationship with Barbadian singer Rihanna, is currently touring in the UK with his Saturday, London, next date.

In connection with an assault where the victim was allegedly struck multiple times with a bottle before being pursued, punched, and kicked, Brown is accused of trying to commit grievous bodily harm with intent.

While Brown was on a UK tour, the alleged incident occurred at a nightclub in Hanover Square on February 19, 2023.

After he reportedly entered a private jet, police arrested him at a five-star hotel in Manchester on May 13.

Other bail conditions include that he must turn in his passport if he isn’t traveling.

Additionally, he is prohibited from visiting the nightclub where the alleged assault occurred or from speaking with the alleged victim, Abraham Diah, at a specific address that the court has approved.

He is currently being detained along with co-defendant Omololu Akinlolu, a US citizen, with whom he is also being charged.

Akinlolu also agreed not to plead guilty to the same charge of intending to cause grievous bodily harm.

Additionally, both men are facing separate assault-related bodily harm charges.

On July 11, the court was informed that they would enter pleas to that charge.

A bottle, an offensive weapon, and Brown’s third offense are also brought against him in public.

The Grammy-winning singer is renowned for “Kiss, Kiss” and other songs from the 2000s.

With his rich R&amp, B voice, and later rap, he rose from a nearby church choir in Virginia to acclaim fame, but the abuse allegations have tarnished his reputation.
