Jennifer McGarty’s daughter, Aitch, has been keeping an eye on him as they get closer to the Australian jungle, and she calls him a “lovely boy.”
The mother of I’m A Celeb’s Shona McGarty has given her seal of approval to rapper Aitch, describing him as a “lovely boy” amidst rumours of a blossoming jungle romance.
Jennifer, a retired school business manager, said the pair’s playful pillow fight, which culminated with Aitch wrapping his legs around Shona, is her favorite so far. When Mancunian Aitch, 25, confessed to his mate Angry Ginge that he had a “soft spot” for her, speculation about a potential romance between them erupted.
She expressed her joy at seeing former EastEnders actress Shona, 34, appearing “happy” following her recent break up and personal struggles. Former Whitney actress Shona was engaged to guitarist David Bracken, but revealed in the jungle she had split from him and ended their engagement.
Jennifer, 69, told The Sun, “I am loving it – she has relaxed into it now, which is obviously very satisfying. I liked the pillow fight and her coming out as a funk. That’s what makes me happy, seeing that she’s acting naturally and that she’s really enjoying and enjoying it, which is wonderful. Her face is full of joy and mischief, clearly visible. That is the beloved Shona.
Last week, viewers saw Aitch cuddling Shona and holding her hand as they watched a trial together in surprise. And things seemed to intensify between them when they were caught gazing into each other’s eyes – before engaging in a pillow fight in the losers’ camp, Doomsville. When Aitch wrapped his legs around her, Shona quipped: “Why are your thighs so strong?”
The chemistry between Ant and Dec has been spotted by both Ant and Dec, as well as by numerous fans. At the conclusion of Wednesday’s episode, Dec said to Ant, “Getting very cosy, aren’t they,” before smirking. Then retorted, “Well, some of them are.. “
Viewers also had their say after the playful scenes. Some fans even suggested Aitch deliberatly lost to be in the loser camp with Shona, with many viewers “rooting” for their possible romance. One fan said: “Aitch and Shona ready for that christmas love.” Another agreed: “Are we witnessing the chemistry between Aitch and Shona? You can feel the love.”
A fourth fan added, “I know Aitch lost on purpose be with Shona I just can’t prove it,” and another said, “Aitch and Shona are so cute and I am SO HERE FOR IT.” I’m so in love with Aitch and Shona, a fifth person said.
Aitch and Shona staring into each other’s eyes, a fellow fan said. However, friends and family leave comments as well, giving the impression that the pair is rooting for them.
Aitch’s close pal and manager said the pair could make a “nice couple”. Shona’s sister Camila had her say too, and said: “He is a nice guy… I would definitely have him around for Christmas .”
Jennifer called the two characters “very similar” and said, “I think. Both have that playful quality. A lovely boy, he is. He will definitely be invited over for dinner. Jennifer made hints about a potential romance by mentioning that they might be “great mates” and adding, “Who knows.
Aitch, whose real name is Harrison Armstrong, split up with Lois Cottam before exploring the Australian jungle. Shona recently ended her engagement to her 38-year-old guitarist partner, David Bracken. She bravely discussed her five-year battle with anxiety and depression before going into the jungle.
Shona left her role as Whitney Dean on BBC One’s EastEnders after 16 years in 2023. She is now pursuing a career in music.
With her stunning voice, Shona, who recently released her debut single Unapologetically Me, has rocked both her campmates and viewers, belting out classics like Bill Withers’ Ain’t No Sunshine.
