A stylist to the stars has died aged 39 it has been confirmed.
Graham Nation, who one dated Sheridan Smith, had also styled a number of high-profile stars during his career, including Demi Moore, Jared Leo, Venus Williams and Catherine O’Hara.
According to the L. A. County Department of Medical Examiner, Graham, whose real name was Graham Cheek, died at a gym in Los Angeles. It’s said he died on Friday, February 14 and the case is pending an additional investigation.
The Two Pints of Lager and Packet of Crisps star, who described him as her “dream man,” and Graham and Sheridan briefly dated him in 2017. The pair, who had previously resided together at Sheridan’s London residence, were pictured snuggling up to one another in Notting Hill.
While dating, she described him on social media as her “dream man”, adding: “Look how fit my man is #punching”. The actress, who was involved in their breakup, claimed that her tattooed boyfriend had moved out of her London home and left her broken-hearted.
A source told The Sun at the time of their split that although there is no animosity, Graham is still there for her.
Prior to his passing, Graham had previously shared how he had styled Catherine O’Hara’s hair for her Michelob Ultra Super Bowl commercial. On February 10, he took to Instagram to share the news with a big ovation. He wrote: “What an absolute blast to work on, Thank you Cathrine O’Hara for having me apart of this epic commercial”.
Following his death, the company who represented him, The Wall Group, shared an emotional statement. They told Behind The Chair: “Graham was a one-of-a-kind soul who impacted every single person he met. We are grateful for supporting him in his artistic endeavors and for bringing them to the world. We will miss him dearly and have broken hearts.
On social media, there were also many tributes. Erin Foster shared on her Instagram Stories: “I can not stop thinking about and missing @grahamnation. He left behind a 6 month old baby. We discussed sleep-training advice and diapers.
“I can’t stop thinking about Tonya and what she must be through,” he said. losing her husband and now raising their son alone.
Fellow stylist Divinity Ray also paid tribute, saying:” 10 years of knowing you, from cutting hair in our hometown to witnessing you take LA by storm. You were never too busy to be thoughtful. You were never too big to smile at everyone. You were the most difficult artist to understand. Enough talent to have the biggest ego, but so kind and modest.
Graham also served as an educator and brand ambassador for companies like SexyHair and Fekkai, as well as having a long list of famous clients under his name. His work has also been featured in top-end publications, including British Vogue, W, Elle, Marie Claire, InStyle and Wonderland.
He leaves behind partner Tonya Brewer and their six-month-old son, Romeo.
