
In a car crash involving a Golf 3 wagon and a Toyota Sienna in Yakasawa village in Jigawa State, seven people have been confirmed dead, and 14 others have suffered varying degrees of injuries.
Head-on collision between the two vehicles caused the accident, which happened along the Ringim–Yakasawa road, to result in severe damage to the vehicles, which sparked panic among the locals.
Security operatives were immediately dispatched to the scene, according to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), CSP Shiisu Lawal, who confirmed the incident.  ,
He claimed that “seven people lost their lives in the accident, and fourteen others were saved with injuries and taken to the hospital for medical treatment.”
CSP Lawal added that preliminary investigations suggested that the crash may have been caused by excessive speed and reckless driving.

The exact cause of the accident has already been investigated. To prevent such unfortunate events, he advised drivers to strictly abide by traffic rules.
Yakasawa village resident and eyewitness described the situation as devastating.
“The impact was very loud,” he said. People were spotted trapped inside the vehicles as we ran out. Before the police and other responders arrived, one villagers reportedly offered their assistance, the witness said.
Hospital officials confirmed that the injured victims are currently receiving medical attention. A medical source reported that “some of the patients are responding well, while others are still being closely watched.”
To restore the flow of traffic, the deceased’s bodies were deposited in a mortuary, and the accident vehicles were evacuated.
