Serena Williams stated that she is “not coming back” to tennis after filing the necessary paperwork.

After the US Open in 2022, the American legend, who won 23 Grand Slam singles titles, retired.

Williams, 44, is back on the list of players who have been approved for the drug testing pool, according to the International Tennis Integrity Agency.

Her name also appears on the organization’s most recent document, which was released on October 6th, 2018.

Williams announced on social media that she had re-entered the sport’s approved drug testing facility shortly after it became public that she had. This wildfire is insane.

Williams never liked the term “retour,” preferring to say that she was “evolving away” from the sport in 2022.

Three years ago, Tiger Woods, Mike Tyson, Bill Clinton, and Billie Jean King watched from New York City as Williams won her final US Open singles match.

In the third round, Williams had saved five match points in an electric night session at Arthur Ashe Stadium before Ajla Tomljanovic from Australia had to bring her career to an end.

Before they can resume playing professionally once more, retired players must make themselves available for six-month testing outside of competition.

Williams requested her name to be added to the list at the time of the request, but even if she had to wait six months from October 6th, that would allow her to do so starting in April.

More Grand Slam singles titles are only held by Novak Djokovic and Margaret Court than by Williams.

The most significant singles titles held by any woman in the Open era are her seven Australian Open titles, three French Open victories, seven Wimbledon victories, and six US Open victories.

Venus, Serena’s older sister, returned from her 16-month absence from the tour earlier this year.

At age 45, Venus, a seven-time major singles champion, reached the final eight of the women’s doubles with Leylah Fernandez in the US Open.
