In order to improve the country’s tax system and generate more revenue, the Nigerian Senate will hold a two-day public hearing on tax reform proposals beginning on Monday.
Key government officials and 71 important stakeholders will be the focus of the Senate Committee on Finance hearing.
Speaking after a closed-door meeting on Wednesday, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Finance, Senator Sani Musa, underscored that the public hearing follows extensive consultations with relevant stakeholders.

Senator Musa assured that all questions will be answered in order for the public hearing to be thorough and open, which would result in the best possible outcome for Nigeria’s economic future.
The Joint Revenue Board Establishment Bill and the Nigerian Revenue Services Bill will be the topics of discussion next week, while Tuesday’s discussions will be about the Nigerian Tax Administration Bill and the Nigerian Tax Bill.
