Senate Finance Committee Chair Vows Workable Tax Reforms Amid Public Hearing

Senator Sani Musa, the chairman of the Senate Committee on Finance, has assured that the ongoing public hearing on the four tax reform bills will be inclusive and will result in sound legislation that is both politically and legally based.

Senator Musa stressed in an interview prior to the hearing that all presenters had the opportunity to express their opinions, even those with divergent viewpoints.

He reaffirmed the committee’s commitment to considering every submission before finalizing the legislation.

“We will pass a workable tax law for this nation.” After today, we will go on a three-day retreat with experts and the Federation Office of the Attorney General to review each presentation. Our goal is to ensure that Nigeria’s Constitution is followed by the final act.

Senator Musa reiterated that the committee will develop legislation that addresses the needs of the entire country.

He also emphasized President Bola Tinubu’s desire to increase the country’s economy by one trillion naira, underscoring how important tax reforms will be in achieving this goal.
