Malahide, T20 second,

Ireland: Did not bat.

England: Did not bat.

England lead series 1-0 after the match was abandoned without a ball bowled.

Without a ball being bowled during the second T20 between Ireland and England due to the rain, the game was abandoned in Dublin.

The weather prevented play on Friday after Phil Salt led England to victory in the opening game on Wednesday.

The sold-out Malahide game was scheduled to begin at 13:30 BST, but persistent rain in the previous 36 hours caused an inspection at 12:00 with umpires confirming the abandonment at 15:48.

On Sunday, the series’ third and final game will take place.

Next month, England’s white-ball team will play three one-day internationals and three T20 matches in New Zealand.
