SDP National Executives Visit IBB In Minna

In celebration of his 84th birthday, former military leader General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB) received the National Executive Committee of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) at his Hilltop residence in Minna, Niger State, on Wednesday.

The party’s acting acting national chairman led the delegation. Sa’adatu Abdullahi, Air Vice Marshal Abubakar Sadick Liman (rtd), and former senator Ugochukwu Uba, National Vice Chairman (South East), former Kogi State governor candidate Murtala Ajaka, National Secretary Olu Aguluye, National Publicity Secretary Rufus Ayenegba, National Women Leader Sa’adatu Abdullahi, former senator Ugochukwu Uba, National Vice among other dignitaries, including National Vice Chairman (North Central).

At a time when Nigeria is facing significant economic and political difficulties, Gombe described Babangida as the “father of the nation” and the “founder of the Social Democratic Party.”

We are here to thank him for his 84th birthday and to draw on his wealth of experience to help us unite to accomplish this country’s rescue mission, Gombe said. His words, “in which he recalled the SDP’s heyday and expressed happiness that its ideals are still in place,” were encouraging.

In his remarks, General Babangida expressed gratitude for the SDP’s continued support, stating that “no time is needed for the SDP more than now.”

He reiterated his commitment to upholding the party’s foundation’s foundation’s foundation’s foundation’s foundation’s foundational values of social justice, fairness, and equity.

Olu Aguluye, the SDP National Secretary, also spoke and emphasized Babangida’s recognition of the party’s ability to reposition Nigeria.

“General Babangida himself acknowledged that Nigeria needs a country like ours that stands for justice, equality, and organization, one that stands out from the corruption culture. He praised our efforts and assured us of his backing in the country’s rescue effort, Aguluye said.
