Scarlets and Ospreys are not competing against one another, according to WRU chair Richard Collier-Keywood, despite the union’s announcement that there will be only one team with a west Wales base.
The WRU has made it clear that it will reduce the number of professional teams that are funded by the WRU from four to three “as soon as possible,” possibly by the 2026-27 season.
