Satirical statue in DC notes ‘long-lasting bond’ between Trump, Epstein

On the east end of the National Mall in Washington, DC, a mysterious bronze statue displaying Jeffrey Epstein and Donald Trump, the president of the United States, continues to rumble in public as his past relationship with the deceased sex offender.

The satirical pop-up statue, which depicts the two men holding hands in the air while holding one leg, was put under the moniker “In honor of friendship month” on Tuesday.

A plaque on the installation reads, “We celebrate the long-lasting bond between President Donald J. Trump and his “closest friend,” Jeffrey Epstein.

The artwork follows a number of installations that an anonymous group has criticised of Trump in Washington, even though no immediate claim was made to the statue.

Another anti-Trump statue, this time titled “Dictator Approved,” appeared on the National Mall in June, and it featured an eight-foot-tall sculpture that gave the statue of Liberty a gold thumbs up crushing the head of the Statue of Liberty.

On September 23, 2025, a woman poses for a photo of a pop-up statue of US President Donald Trump and rebuffed financier and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein dancing near the US Capitol in Washington, DC.

However, according to White House spokesman Abigail Jackson, “Liberals are free to waste their money however they see fit,” in response to the statue.

Epstein knew Donald Trump, Jackson wrote in an email, “but it’s not news that he did because he kicked him out of his club for being a creep.”

Since Trump’s resignation as president in January, Epstein’s relationship with him, a former sex offender who passed away in jail in 2019, has sparked outrage among his MAGA base. This has angered him, with more demands being placed on the release of case reports relating to Epstein.

An alleged “birthday book” that was given to Epstein to celebrate his then-50th birthday was released earlier in September by a US congressional panel.

A letter with a signature akin to Trump’s was included in the 238-page book, which contained messages and photos of the former financier’s friends.

In light of the ongoing investigation into his connections to the convicted sex offender, Trump has denied that he sent a lascivious birthday letter to Epstein. Trump is also suing The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times for their allegations and coverage of his ties to Epstein.
