After advising her sister Billie to look at holistic options before pursuing her young son’s tonsil removal, TV star Sam Faiers sparked controversy.
Sam Faiers has come under fire after suggesting her sister Billie consider alternative health approaches instead of scheduling her son’s tonsillectomy.
In a scene from their television series Sister Act, Billie states that Arthur, the daughter of Arthur, is scheduled to have his tonsils removed after falling ill. Arthur is “getting his tonsils out,” he claims. He was diagnosed with tonsillitis six times last year, according to her.
“When the doctor looked at them, straight away he said to me ‘nah… they are really, really unhealthy tonsils.” She adds: “But tonsils serve no purpose in your body.” It comes after Sam’s heartache after cruel thieves stole her late grandmother’s precious wedding ring.

Sam disagrees with the decision and advocates allergy testing first, despite later claiming that she leans toward holistic health. She contends that “everything in your body serves a purpose.”
When your body says something is wrong and you have a rash, a bump in your body, tonsils raised, hair falling out, or a rash, it’s because your body is telling you something’s wrong.
It’s Arthur’s body telling him that he has an allergy, or, you know, he has a virus, and that’s how he responds. How else will his body tell you that something is wrong when they’re out, then?
Billie responds, saying that she “has some sort of intolerance or allergy.” “Sam’s comments, however, caused controversy online, with online critics accusing her of spreading false information.
She’s not a doctor, according to one viewer, and she shouldn’t be able to offer dangerous advice. “Mrs. Know It All” was another term for her.
Another user shared a personal warning as they wrote: “Don’t ever mess about waiting for tonsils out… I was rushed into hospital because it made me so ill. I’ve had fibromyalgia for 15 years, and now severe arthritis. I wish I could dream everything be OK with positivity or a cream or holistic, but life’s not like that.”
Earlier this summer, Sam also came under fire for controversial comments she made about sun cream. The reality star took to social media to reveal she doesn’t get her children to wear sun cream.
The former TOWIE star explained that her kids have “built up a really good tolerance to being in the sun” as she made wild claims about sunscreen having “pretty harmful and full of toxic ingredients” in, which has been discredited by a skin doctor.
She stated in a lengthy post on social media that “It’s always a bit contentious, but honestly, my entire family doesn’t actually wear sunscreen.” The children have developed a great tolerance for sun over time.
“Of course, I’ll make sure we head into the shade if it’s very hot and the sun feels too harsh,” he said, “typically around lunchtime, we’ll go in, have something to eat, and just avoid those peak hours.”
She continued, “I’m really careful about sunscreen in general because a lot of them are actually pretty harmful and full of toxic ingredients.” SPF swimwear is a great and safer option if you do want to keep your kids safe.
Don’t be afraid of the sun, either! I enjoy letting the kids run around and soak it up because it’s good for them, especially when it’s less strong in the morning or later in the afternoon. Having said that, just in case I need to take a Tallow Zinc SPF with me when I leave. And it’s necessary to wear hats or caps! No one wants additional sun damage, especially for us ladies.
The comments were later heavily criticised by a skin doctor.
