With a 22-14 victory over Leeds Rhinos, St. Helens advanced to the Challenge Cup quarter-finals after putting together an impressive second-half performance.

On a chilly night, the 2021 winners scored through Ash Handley and Harry Newman in response, along with Tristan Sailor, Matt Whitley, Tristan Sailor, and Harry Robertson.

Paul Wellens’ side had to come from behind and withstand some heavy pressure, but they fought back from their Super League defeat to Hull KR last time out.

Hull KR and Red Devils of Salford draw with Saints in the draw despite the two teams’ nights competing against Championship rivals.

Too many Saints to support Rhinos

Saints lost to Hull KR a week ago despite having a string of victories before the season, but their attacking display after the break may have eased some issues given some of their play’s crispness.

After receiving a pass from Harry Robertson to score, Feldt scored with a smart kick, and Leeds failed to deal with the error to score the favor.

Additionally, Whitley made money off of George Delaney’s and Jonny Lomax’s strong cross-running.

In Perpignan last weekend, Leeds struggled to earn a single point, and Brad Arthur’s side struggled to execute and move quickly to a winning result.

Salford stop the flow

Salford has endured a terrible time. Players and staff are awaiting payment, a lengthy takeover is still pending, and on-field sanctions are limiting Paul Rowley’s selection options. In an effort to raise even more money, the club was forced to sell Marc Sneyd to Warrington Wolves.

The Red Devils were therefore anticipating a Bradford side that had already eliminated the Castleford Tigers in the previous round, and it initially appeared as though the worst might ever occur.

Esan Marsters opened the scoring for Salford, but Guy Armitage and Zac Fulton scored the Bulls’ first tries after the break and Kieran Gill added more points.

Gildart leads Hull KR in this regard

Willie Peters’ strong teamwork earned him praise for making the quarter-finals for Hull KR.

The Roughyeds have made significant investments in the Championship under former cup winner Sean Long, but they found the Super League runners-up last year in ruthless mode.

The first-half platform was set by Tom Davies, Jai Whitbread, debutant Lee Kershaw, and Oli Gildart.
