Saffron Barker, the star of Strictly Come Dancing, has been left counting her blessings after being robbed while on a US holiday with her boyfriend Josh Miln.
Saffron Barker has issued a stern caution to her followers planning to travel along Route 66, following her harrowing experience of robbery on the iconic American highway. The 24 year old influencer and former Strictly Come Dancing contestant rented a car with her model boyfriend Josh Miln last week for a road trip from Los Angeles to Las Vegas.
However, their journey took a terrifying turn when they stopped at Peggy Sue’s, a renowned diner on Route 66, only to return to their vehicle completely vandalised, all their possessions stolen, and the vehicle being “completely smashed up.” Following the shocking incident, she expressed gratitude for being unharmed and advised her fans to reconsider stopping along the route.
In her recent YouTube video detailing the ‘nightmare’ holiday, she stated: “We keep saying how lucky we are, we could have been held at gun point. These people could have been following us.”
“I think at Peggy Sue’s, it happens quite frequently,” she says. You would have gone there, where there are guns and other things, if Josh had left and seen it, I am certain. We are also very, very happy that neither of us has suffered any harm as a result.
Tourists were present everywhere, Miln, her boyfriend, and it seems like this happens almost daily. The lack of warning signs is crazy.
The couple, now safely back in the UK, had to continue their journey in the damaged car and conclude their trip in Las Vegas while awaiting emergency passports. Saffron revealed that they were left with nothing but their mobile phones after the theft. Thieves made off with their passports, cash and all their luggage. She explained: “We walked outside and the car was completely smashed in, the car that we rented.”
“And inside was everything I genuinely feel I own.” Like our passports, cards, the list goes on. I genuinely don’t have anything. Our phones were the only items we brought with us into the restaurant. It’s just trivial things, like missing contacts and not seeing anything at the moment. We were claiming that the materialistic aspects of the situation were not the same.
“It’s really sad that we’ve lost all that money, all the things we’ve worked so hard for, and all the things we loved,” he said. However, 1. we can’t even get home, which is both annoying and. 2. We can’t afford to pay for anything with our cards. 3. since we don’t even have ID, they refused to let us in even though I had a photo.
The house was recently robbed, according to Josh’s girlfriend, who later said, “I wasn’t going to mention that part, but yeah.”
The YouTuber updated viewers on their current situation by saying, “We’re currently waiting to get emergency passports, we have to drive back to LA, but our flights are out of Vegas so we have to drive back again.” But we won’t be stopping at all,” he declares.
One fan wrote, “Someone has an evil eye on you girl, but you guys are a million bucks.” Second penned, “I’m so sorry you’ve gone through this,” “I’m so sorry this has all happened to you, but hopefully it means great things are around the corner.” Keep your eyes on! “!
Saffron Barker began her career on YouTube in 2015 and has amassed over 2 million followers since. She rose to mainstream prominence in 2019 when she competed on Strictly Come Dancing.
The star was partnered with professional dancer AJ Pritchard, with the couple finishing in 10th place.
