A dominant 6-2, 6-3 victory over Serbia’s Olga Danilovic on Friday helped top seed Aryna Sabalenka advance to the French Open last 16.
In 79 minutes, the world’s number one surfed the soaked Court Philippe Chatrier to beat her 34th-ranked foe.

Sabalenka, a three-time Grand Slam winner, said, “I’m super happy with the win. Olga is a fighter.”
The Belarusian, who has never advanced past the semi-finals in Paris, continued, “Here it’s about dreams, I give my all.”

The 27-year-old next faces American Amanda Anisimova, a 16th-seeded American, to advance to the quarter-finals.
In a third-round match, Anisimova defeated Danish 22nd seed Clara Tauson 7-6 (7 / 4) 6-4.
Meanwhile, Novak Djokovic successfully continued his Grand Slam record attempt at Roland Garros while Jannik Sinner and Richard Gasquet’s retiring career came to an end with a one-sided victory at the French Open on Thursday.
With a score of 6-3, 6-0, and 6-4, World No. 1 Sinner, who was playing at the tournament for the 22nd and final time against the 38-year-old Gasquet, was unaffected.
Sinner made his comeback from a three-month suspension earlier in May by reaching the final before falling to defending Roland Garros champion Carlos Alcaraz in straight sets.
He saved three break points to end the first set before dominating the match on Court Philippe Chatrier in excellent form against Gasquet.
