Rylan Clark has revealed that his mother was rushed to hospital after slipping on ice, resulting in a horrific fall that left her arm “black” with painful bruises

Rylan Clark’s mum Linda has admitted that she was rushed to hospital after slipping on ice and injuring her arm. The 73-year-old shared the news on Rylan’s BBC Radio 2 show on Saturday.

Speaking to her son on the radio, she explained that she mistook ice for water while taking her rubbish out, resulting in her fracturing her shoulder. “I just went flying and I hurt my arm again,” she said live on the radio.

She added that it was “so sore” and had turned “black” from all the bruising. Rylan said: “Well that was a lovely phone call I got that morning, you on your way to the hospital.

“But it could’ve been worse, it could’ve been your arm and your leg like we’ve had before.” He told his mum that she needs to “not make it any worse” and so needs to “be careful”.

He later thanked his listeners for getting in touch after Linda’s story, telling them: “So many of you getting in touch, thank you, yeah, she is alright by the way.

“She’s fractured her shoulder, I just can’t help her, you know what she’s like, rushing around doing stuff. In all fairness, though, it was an accident; she just slipped on some ice.”

Last year, Rylan was forced to miss his Radio 2 programme after his mum was rushed to hospital with illness ahead of her 73rd birthday. Writing on Instagram at the time, Rylan said: “Antibiotics have worked.

“Letting her home on orals. So she’s home for her bday. Cheers, everyone, for your messages. Means a lot. Off sort wheelie bins x.”

While he didn’t explain why Linda had been admitted to the hospital, he also said: “She’s all good. Hoping she will be at home for her bday. She’s now worried about wheelie bins going out again.”

Meanwhile, back in November, Rylan revealed that he had received “loads of messages” from worried fans who had read a “fake” news story about Linda. He said on his Radio 2 programme: “I’ve had a load of messages today and yesterday.

“My mum’s absolutely fine, and I think there’s a fake news site on Facebook saying that my mum’s not well or something. She’s fine, she’s absolutely fine.”

He added: “She’s already been playing with the wheelie bins this morning. Thank you for the lovely messages but Linda is good.”
