After a devastating break-up, former X Factor star Rylan Clark has openly acknowledged that he couldn’t imagine going through it twice.
Getting over a relationship can be difficult, it’s a mountain range of emotions on a turbulent sea as both parties attempt to heal following the split.
Breakups can be agonizing ordeals, regardless of whether there has been a marriage. This means that moving forward can be difficult and time-consuming for everyone involved.
This was one topic former X Factor contestant Rylan Clark, 36, explored with his guest Vanessa Williams on his podcast ‘Rylan: How to Be In Love’, during which they shared their romantic experiences.
Rylan has been wed once, for six years to Dan Neal, between 2015 and 2021. Meanwhile, The Devil Wears Prada Musical star Vanessa, 62, has walked down the aisle three times.
She was first wed to Ramon Hervey II, then Rick Fox, and finally Jim Skrip. The timing of one of Rylan and Vanessa’s marriages coincided, with Vanessa knotting with Jim in 2015 before their 2021 divorce.
Rylan admitted that because of the agonizing pain it caused, it wasn’t something he would want to go through again.
Rylan shared that he has to go through it once and that once was enough for him as he continues to endure agonizing reminders of his heartache to this day.
“You still get that weird sharp pain every now and again.
“Oh that glass looks like… and it’s, like, that little,” is what it’ll be like. I had no idea how I would react to going through that twice.
Rylan has previously opened up about his marriage to Dan Neal, with the BBC Radio 2 presenter confessing he experienced certain feelings he wasn’t familiar with post-divorce.
He acknowledged in a statement on the same podcast that he had found that since my marriage broke down, I have found that whenever I go on dates or begin seeing people, or when I have sex with them, I lose interest pretty quickly.
I actually became concerned about it about a year or two ago because I pondered, “Hold on, I don’t remember this from BM, I call it,” before getting married.
