Scarlett is reportedly the daughter of Ryan Thomas and Tina O’Brien, but it has been reported that there have been disagreements over how to raise their young actress daughter.
Although their romance was once a romantic dream, the two women’s affairs have since turned violent because their daughter, Scarlett, is said to not be their daughter.
Tensions between the Coronation Street exes have been bubbling for years and their feud came to a boiling point in 2022 when Tina was accused of smashing up Ryan’s car with a baseball bat after a furious row.
Although it hasn’t been fully understood why the heated argument started nearly three years ago, it’s now been suggested that Tina’s anger stemmed from her differences regarding Scarlett’s parenting style.

Scarlett, age 16, has always enjoyed being in the limelight as a youngster, but when she first landed the Waterloo Road role, she immediately jumped into acting. Since then, she has regularly appeared online, sharing TikTok videos on her own account and appearing on The Thomas Family, a joint family.
Now it has been claimed Ryan, 41, and Tina, 42, have different approaches to raising their daughter with Tina reportedly wanting Scarlett to get a good education while Ryan includes Scarlett in his public persona, and has given her an early taste of the showbiz world.
After her daughter left her £20, 000 per year school in Cheadle Hulme, Greater Manchester, around two years ago, according to sources, Tina was “over the moon” when she was allegedly left “under a cloud.” Scarlett recently posted a TikTok video in which she pondered other students getting their GCSE results last week, but it’s not clear how she has continued her education.
Watching everyone get their [sic] GCSE results today, the teen wrote on TikTok last week, “I will forever wonder if I could have had good results.”
Ryan responded to the TikTok by saying, “Is it even anyone’s business or concern, though” in response.
According to a source, Tina has been “desperate” to allow Scarlett to experience a “normal upbringing and obtain an education.” She did not want Scarlett to rely on their showbiz connections, they added to the DailyMail, adding: “She is less flashy than Ryan.”
While it’s been added, Ryan reportedly “seems to like his daughter’s life in the limelight” and wants Scarlett to “stay on the straight and narrow” and is the “strict” parent of the two.
Tina was also concerned about Scarlett being called a ” nepo baby “, they continued. She wished for her to discover her own path and receive the knowledge to assist her.
The source added, “But it must be challenging to be exposed by a parent and a teenage girl.” There were some issues that began to really affect Scarlett and Tina as they both started to lose interest in certain behaviors.
They continued, “She tried to get Ryan to see it, but he wouldn’t,” adding that.
Ryan and his family have a sizable following on social media and regularly share insights about their lives there. Tina has a relatively quiet presence on the platform, but she occasionally posts photos of her family life.
Scarlett often features on videos with her former Coronation Street star dad as well as her uncles Scott and Adam Thomas, step mum Lucy Mecklenburgh, half-brother Roman, six, half-sister Lilah, three and her cousins and aunts.
One particular video, which was posted on TikTok under the title Who Knows Scarlett Best?, featured Scott, Ryan, and Adam being asked questions about Scarlett, who responded by responding whether or not they were correct. Scarlett asks what her favorite beverage is in the video, where Ryan says “vodka orange” before Adam, Scott, and Scarlett all burst out laughing.
Despite the fact that a source claimed her actress mother wanted her to stay as grounded as possible, Tina reportedly found it difficult to find connections when Scarlett is exposed to all of that.
And a different source claimed that while Tina views acting as a form of art, “her ex Ryan” is more interested in being famous.” Nobody knows how the conflict will end, but Tina simply wants to look after her daughter the best possible way possible rather than putting her out there on social media.
The pair soon became the recognizable soap couple of their day when they first met on Coronation Street, where Tina and Ryan played Sarah Platt and Ryan played Jason Grimshaw. Scarlett was born in 2008, but Ryan and Tina broke up after a year of dating.
Ryan is now engaged to former The Only Way Is Essex star Lucy Mecklenburgh and the pair share two children together; Roman and Lilah. While Tina is currently dating Adam Fadlé. Last year, she split from her husband of seven years Adam Crofts.
