Fighting

    On the eve of Ukraine’s third anniversary, Russia’s Ministry of Defense reported that its air defense units intercepted and detained 20 Ukrainian drones over the course of an overnight sweep of six regions.

  • According to Oleh Kiper, the governor of the region on Ukraine’s Black Sea, three people were hurt when a private house caught fire in the wake of a drone attack in the Odesa region.

Politics and diplomacy

  • French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer will travel to Washington, DC next week amid alarm in Europe over United States President Donald Trump’s hardening stance towards&nbsp, Ukraine&nbsp, and overtures to Moscow on the three-year conflict.
  • Three years after the start of the Ukrainian-Russian conflict, British Foreign Secretary David Lammy announced that London would release a significant package of sanctions against Russia on Monday.
  • During their meeting in Washington, DC, Polish President Andrzej Duda recommended strengthening US presence in Poland and Central Europe. Trump reaffirmed a close alliance with Poland, praising Warsaw’s commitment to increase defence spending, the White House said on X following their meeting.
  • Despite reports that the US might consider limiting Ukraine’s access to the satellite internet system, Polish Deputy Prime Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski said the country has been paying for Ukraine’s Starlink subscription and will continue to do so.
  • No peaceful solution to the conflict could be found without Kyiv, according to Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis in a phone call to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
