RUSSELL MYERS ‘King Charles’ hospital stay is a real worry for royals – even if it’s just a blip’

The doctor literally dictates a period of rest and recuperation. King Charles has kept an extraordinary pace throughout his cancer battle, seeing him closely during engagements both domestically and abroad.
His family has been yelling at him constantly to see if he should cut back on his efforts. However, this man is well-versed in acting in his own unique way. In addition, he is very much of the sentiment that, given his brief absence from the public spotlight last year in the immediate wake of his cancer diagnosis, he needs to “make up for lost time” in the process.
Following his hospital admission yesterday, royal sources described the need for him to be under observation for a few hours as “a minor bump in the road.” However, the King, the royal family, and possibly the nation in particular will worry about this.
When Charles and the Princess of Wales were diagnosed with cancer just days apart last year, both of them felt a strong sense of impending paralysis. It was a testing period for both the Buckingham and Kensington Palace corridors of power, both of which had a definite fear of the unknown and two of the monarchy’s key players had a lot to play for.

The King has had to carry on a lot with the knowledge and acknowledgement that he will still be living with cancer because the princess has thankfully successfully finished her cancer treatment and been able to announce this year that she is cancer free.
Even the idea of having the schedule it takes every week no matter where his diary takes him across the country or indeed the world is a major factor in his weekly treatment is undoubtedly exhausting. It is truly extraordinary that he hasn’t taken a break in all of this time, which will allow him to participate in a significant tour of Australia and Samoa in October.
By reversing engagements on Thursday afternoon and a day in Birmingham to meet highly valued local communities, The King will have been disappointed. However, he will be making every effort to stay fit for the trip with a significant state visit to Italy scheduled for less than nine days.
Charles is living and breathing his legacy every day, not just because he is aware of it. He must carry a lot that other family members must also bear in order for him to accomplish everything he has aimed to do.
