Russell Brand is currently facing two additional rape and sexual assault counts in relation to two additional women, both of which he allegedly committed in 2009. His case was heard at Westminster Magistrates’ Court today. As he was granted bail, the comedian made an appearance via video link from the US.
The Metropolitan Police’s Detective Chief Inspector Tariq Farooqi stated in December that “specially trained officers continue to assist the women who have made reports, including those related to the two new charges.”
The Met’s investigation is still ongoing, and detectives urge anyone with information to contact the police or anyone who is affected by this case to come forward.
The comedian, who is 50, is already facing allegations that four other women have been sexually abused. He was charged with two counts of rape, one count of indecent assault, and two counts of sexual assault in relation to alleged crimes committed between 1999 and 2005. He was scheduled to go on trial in June 2026 after defying the allegations at Southwark Crown Court last year.

Before being granted conditional bail during a ten-minute hearing at Southwark Crown Court, Brand only spoke to offer each not-guilty plea to each of the five charges and confirm his name.

Brand posted a video of himself driving his car on social media the day the new allegations emerged.
