Prince Harry is expected to travel to the UK in the coming weeks, but sources have claimed that he is ‘unlikely’ to see his father, King Charles, while in his home country. The Duke of Sussex will be heading to London for his trial against the publisher of the Daily Mail, which has been pencilled in for January 19.

He is expected to be the first witness to give evidence against the publisher as seven high-profile claimants, including Baroness Lawrence and Sir Elton John, each take their turn to testify before being cross-examined.

Despite making the rare trip to his home country, the Telegraph has reported that Harry has no plans to see Charles given that the timetable of the trial has yet to be officially confirmed. This has led to Harry not being able to commit to seeing his father on any specific day or time. The publication also claim that due to the unconfirmed schedule of the trial, Harry has not been able to book his flights from California to London.

It is likely Harry will only be in the UK for a matter of days, given he has commitments in his diary taking place in California. King Charles will likely be in Balmoral when Harry visits London for the trial, as the monarch often travels to Scotland to take time off in January before returning to his royal duties.

Harry last saw Charles in September 2025 when he visited the UK for the annual WellChild Awards. Despite a whirlwind four-day trip that was jam-packed with engagements, the Duke of Sussex travelled to Clarence House in between events to have a 50-minute private tea with his father. It was the first time the father and son had met in 20 months.

The meeting was largely considered a positive step for Harry and Charles paving the way to a reconciliation, after several years of estrangement. Since the meeting, relations have reportedly thawed between the father and son, and the pair are said to now be in regular contact.

Andrew ‘plans to refuse cottage exile as Sarah Ferguson’s future is revealed’

When it was announced that King Charles would be formally stripping his errant younger brother of his titles and royal styles – it was also revealed that Andrew Mountbatten Windsor and ex-wife Sarah Ferguson had been finally persuaded to give up their lavish Windsor home, Royal Lodge.

It was initially said that the former couple would move out of the property early this year, but now it looks like the pair might be handing back the keys to Royal Lodge later than initially expected.

Andrew has been offered a new home on the Sandringham Estate, a 20,000 acre property that King Charles owns privately in Norfolk, but experts have claimed that it’s likely the former prince will shun a humble abode offered by the Royal Family and look further afield for a more luxurious option.

King to host ‘luxury weddings’ at beloved home

Plans have been unveiled for a new events space at the headquarters of The King’s Foundation, which was set up by Charles more than 35 years ago.

The development – which is named The King’s Hall in honour of the monarch – will add a 430sqm extension to the east wing of Dumfries House in Cumnock, East Ayrshire. The single-storey extension includes a 282sqm public hall and will cater for events of up to 200 guests.

The foundation said it wants it to become the “go-to venue for high-end, luxury weddings and private events” both nationally and internationally. Set to open in 2027, the structure is intended to match the architecture of the 300-year-old house and will be built using the same techniques using locally-sourced materials.

It is also intended to showcase the charity’s principles of “harmony and sustainability”, and will be heated using newly-installed heat pumps and biomass boilers while menus will be made up of organic food and locally-sourced produce.

The foundation said proceeds from ticketed events and venue hire will support the conservation and development of the house and estate, as well as the foundation’s education programmes and community initiatives.

King Charles’ country estate issues closure notice with warning to visitors

King Charles’s cherished Norfolk Royal residence has been forced to alter its opening hours due to severe weather conditions.

The Sandringham Estate announced that certain areas open to the public were either closed or required to shut earlier than usual on Monday because of the adverse weather.

The warning remains active today, Tuesday 6 January. Charles is believed to still be residing at Sandringham House, where he has remained since before Christmas for the traditional Royal gathering in Norfolk.

Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice ‘face major £30m inheritance blow’

Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice will no longer be able to inherit the £30 million estate their father, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, had a lease on, it has been claimed.

After the former Prince was formally notified to leave the Royal Lodge he’s lived in for two decades, a property expert has shared what this means for both him and his daughters.

The Duke had maintained a 75-year lease on the 30-room Royal Lodge since 2003, having signed a long-term arrangement with the Crown Estate. The 65-year-old was understood to have substantial occupancy rights, and many believed he hoped to eventually pass the property to his daughters.

Kate Middleton and Prince William ‘cheapened’ by David and Victoria Beckham reference

Royal fans have hit out at the criticism of a newspaper feature, which heaped praise on the Prince and Princess of Wales, and compared them to David and Victoria Beckham for their strong relationship.

Princess Kate and Prince William were, on Saturday, lauded for their “genuine relationship and a genuinely strong marriage,” akin to David and Victoria, who tied the knot in 1999.

Praising the Prince and Princess’ “brand”, a well-placed source told The Times: “It reminds me a bit of dear old David and Victoria Beckham… I think the public can spot a genuine relationship and a genuinely strong marriage and two people who fit well together. How strong they are individually, but also as a couple. And I think that’s probably a great asset.”
