After the pair took part in a celebrity darts tournament in London, the One Show host was reflecting on a recent appearance with Olly Murs.
After the pair recently appeared together on stage in front of tens of thousands of people, Roman Kemp of The One Show has criticized Olly Murs.
Celebrities and darts pros faced off earlier this month to see who would win the Hyde Park Darts Championship in a game of darts.
The new competition, created by the PDC (Professional Darts Corporation), saw Roman join fellow celebs including Olly Murs, Dion Dublin, and Joe Swash, who were each partnered with a darts pro such as Luke Littler and Luke Humphries.
Reflecting on the eagerly fought contest in a recent episode of his You About? Roman recalled his impressive performance by throwing two “triple 20s” during a podcast with Tom Grennan.
The radio host explained how Joe Swash and his partner Fallon Sherrock emerged as deserved winners after narrowly escaping the top spot and making it all the way to the finals.
He did explain that the celebrities had initially been lulled into false security by Joe before he went on to win the competition: “He kind of hustled us a little bit, because in the little area beforehand, we were all just practicing and he was c**p.”
He expressed regret for the preparation of one of his fellow celebrities for the occasion by saying, “I’m going to call Olly out here. He showed up with a shirt with his name printed all over it.
Then, he continued, “He had his own weighted darts that had his name on them.”
However, Roman claimed that the singer “went out first” and that “Olly’s got to step that up,” despite being fully prepared for the occasion.
Roman has recently gained acclaim in broadcasting despite not having tried his hand at darts. He switched radio for television last year when he began co-hosting several programs, including The One Show, after co-hosting the Capital Breakfast show for the first time.
Many people will know him for his numerous hosting roles, as well as for his third-place finish on I’m A Celeb in 2019 and for his participation in Soccer Aid for England earlier this year.
