Sydney’s third one-day international

Australia 236 all out (46.4 overs): Renshaw 56 (58), Rana 4-39

India 237-1 (38.3 overs): Rohit 121* (125), Kohli 74* (81), Hazlewood 1-23

Australia wins series 2-1, India wins by nine wickets.

In the third one-day international, India defeated Australia to seal a victory over India with Rohit Sharma’s fiftyth international hundred.

India hit their target of 237 balls with 69 balls to spare in Sydney thanks to an unbroken partnership of 168 between Rohit (121*) and Virat Kohli (74*).

Kumar Sangakkara overcame Kohli to become the second-highest run scorer in the format after being dismissed without scoring in India’s first two games.

The 36-year-old currently has 14 255 ODI runs, but he still has a way to surpass Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 18 426.

Australia won the toss and chose to bat, but Harshit Rana, a seamer, lost the match with a 4-39 lead.

Matt Renshaw tops the series with 56 points, his first ODI half-century since making his debut in this series, while the rest of Australia’s top six made scores of 23 and 41 but fell behind.

After being caught behind Josh Hazlewood for 24 seconds, Captain Shubman Gill was the only one to lose in India’s favor, before Kohli and Rohit comfortably led the visitors to victory.
