As Sir Rod Stewart fought health issues days before his scheduled performance, there were concerns that the Glastonbury Festival might have arrived too soon.
Sir Rod Stewart’s wife, Penny Lancaster, has opened up about the condolences her husband’s husband expressed following a significant accomplishment in his distinguished career.
The legendary singer made a significant comeback last month with a triumphant appearance at the Glastonbury Festival after a difficult few weeks.
Due to health issues forcing him to reschedule and cancel several performances prior to the event, Sir Rod’s eagerly awaited return to the prestigious Pyramid Stage was shrouded in uncertainty.
In the run-up to the festival, he informed his fans via Instagram that he had to postpone and cancel some of his US tour dates, suffering from what Penny referred to as the “worst” kind of flu “you can get.”
He announced the cancellation of three Las Vegas shows and one in Lake Tahoe, while his June 12 performance in Rancho Mirage, California, and his June 15 gig in Paso Robles, California, were moved to September 20 and 21, reports Edinburgh Live.
However, Hello! mentioned in a recent conversation. In a statement from the magazine Penny, Sir Rod admitted to her that he initially feared he wouldn’t make it until Glastonbury because he didn’t think I would be well enough. My voice isn’t working, so I tried it out.
On June 29, Sir Rod Stewart triumphantly returned to Glastonbury, dominating the Legends Slot on the Pyramid Stage.
Penny Lancaster was there to celebrate his performance, describing him as having the “biggest grinning face” and congratulating him with a heartfelt “You did it,” as he came off stage.
Without wasting any time on the side, Sir Rod politely and affectionately remarked, “I couldn’t have done it without you.”
Following Sir Rod’s separation from his ex-wife Rachel Hunter, the couple’s romance first started in 1999. On June 16, 2007 in the picturesque Italian village of Portofino, they exchanged vows after an eight-year courtship.
Sir Rod is currently gearing up to resume his global tour despite having undergone what she described as the “worst” flu.
