An American rock star seemingly went unnoticed as he travelled on public transport in between gigs.

Jack White, who achieved international fame as the guitarist and lead singer of the White Stripes, hopped on an Avanti train to travel from Birmingham to Glasgow, where he performed at the famous Barrowland Ballroom on March 3. The 49-year-old musician revealed he enjoys travelling by train as he shared a post on Instagram.

One of the photos he published shows him looking outside the window, while admiring the green fields. In another shot taken from the CCTV screen, Jack can be seen relaxing opposite his wife, Olivia Jean, with a small table in between them.

He captioned the post: “Traveling by train again from Birmingham England to the show in Glasgow Scotland today. So nice to be able to travel this way between gigs. Scottish crowds are so unbelievably energetic too, it makes me proud of my father’s ancestry.

” The crowd was on fire tonight and was so great to play a historical venue in the Barrowland Ballroom. The Mrs. and I took photos of each other on the train and old swanny got a photo of the security camera too. Thank you much to all the fans in Scotland and at all of our shows this run. Too much love to take in. “

Fans were shocked to see the famous rock star travelling by train as one wrote:” Can’t believe you guys got on an Avanti in Birmingham. obsessed. “A second added:” can’t believe you risked the entire glasgow show by travelling with the most unreliable train operator in the uk. “

A third commented:” Riding on a train to Scotland is my happy place. 🙂 “And someone else added:” My cousin text me saying she had seen you on the train, I thought she was bu———g me. “One more fan said:” So glad you took the train, such amazing scenery! “

Several fans who attended the concert praised the musician for his energy with one saying:” The Barras show in Glasgow was incredible tonight. Thanks so much for coming to play for us. So glad to hear you enjoyed it too, we loved every minute of it! “

Another expressed:” The Barras is iconic, one of the best venues in the world where the crowd never lets you down. Seeing such an icon there tonight was such a treat and I won’t be forgetting that any time soon. Loved it. “

In September 2024, Jack launched a lawsuit against Donald Trump alleging that the US president misused his band’s song Seven Nation Army. Lawyers for the musician and his former wife and band member Meg White, filed court papers for” flagrant misappropriation of the musical composition and sound recording Seven Nation Army. “

This follows White previously saying he would sue over a video posted of Trump on social media platforms showing him boarding a plane to the track. White wrote:” Don’t even think about using my music. “The band’s attorneys Manatt, Phelps &amp, Phillips, LLP called the song” among the most well-known and influential musical works of all time “and claimed it was used to generate interest in Trump’s campaign ahead of his re-election in November.
