Robbie Williams has shared the heartbreaking 2am text he received from his 13 year old daughter as she opened up about her fears for the future, admitting she is ‘desperate’ to be famous
Robbie Williams has revealed that his 13 year-old daughter sent him a heartbreaking message at 2am, and admitted she fears she will “nothing” if she’s not famous.
The Angels singer shares his teenage daughter, Teddy, with wife Ayda Field. He shared on BBC Radio 2 that Teddy sent him a text in the middle of the night where she opened up about how she was “desperate” for fame but worried her “oversensitive” personality would hold her back.
Talking to Scott Mills, Robbie watched a clip of Teddy joining him for vocal warm ups. After the clip was played, Scott asked: “That must be kind of special, because I feel they’re now at an age where they know who their dad is and to have that experience with your kids? Is it cool?”

Robbie said it was, especially since Teddy wanted to fame for herself. “Yeah, it is very, very cool,” he said. “Ted in particular is so desperate for it.
“Now, when I was growing up in Stoke-on Trent, I was also incredibly desperate for it, whatever it was, you know, watching Top Of The Pops on Thursday and thinking, how the hell do I get in that box in the corner of this room and be one of those people?”
But he added that the desperation was more “acute” in his daughter and read out the message she sent him. Robbie said: “She sent me a text the other day. And it goes, let me get this.
“It says – this was Thursday, six minutes past two in the morning, ‘Dad, what if I’m not a singer? It’s my biggest fear not to be a singer.’ Biggest capital letters. ‘What if I’m nothing?'”
Robbie laughed that his response was that she would be fine, because she is a “nepo”. “And I was like, ‘Babe, you’re a nepo. You’ll be fine.'” Scott asked the former Take That star if he was worried that his daughter wanted to be famous. Robbie said that the only thing that worried him was that “she’s incredibly sensitive”.
“She is worse than me. And I’m worried about what words will do to her,” he said. He later added: “I’m just worried about words, and mean people and – I’m not worried – because like I can steer her professionally so that’s okay, it’s just everything else that comes with it and also you know, besides all of that, it’s a wonderful, wonderful life and a wonderful, wonderful job and you get to be creative for a living and I’m very grateful and incredibly lucky.”
Robbie’s daughter has recently made her acting debut, appearing in the Christmas film Tinsel Town as the daughter of Rebel Wilson’s character. Teddy arrived at the premiere in a green dress and black fur jacket, alongside her parents. The couple proudly smiled with their eldest child. Robbie and Ayda also share a son, Charlie, 10, and another two children, Coco, 7, and Beau, 5.
