Hollywood director Rob Reiner’s eldest child spoke of her shock at the death of her father and his wife, Michele Singer Reinter, as their son Nick Reiner remains in custody

Rob Reiner’s eldest child has spoken for the first time since the horrific death of the Hollywood director and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner. Tracy Reiner, 61, was adopted by Rob during his marriage to Penny Marshall.

And now, she has shared a heartbreaking comment after Rob and Michele were found dead in their Los Angeles home at the weekend. Tracy revealed she is in shock following the news.

Rob and Michele’s son Nick, 32, is currently in custody without bail. It’s said the case will be turned over to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office today, according to officials.

Speaking to NBC News after the sad news, Tracy said: “I came from the greatest family ever. I don’t know what to say. I’m in shock.”

And she revealed she had seen her dad just a day earlier at a family gathering. According to People, the couple’s daughter, Romy, was the person to have found their bodies inside their Brentwood home.

As the horrifying details begin to emerge, it’s claimed the couple were found in rigor mortis. According to TMZ, when police arrived on the scene at around 3:40 PM on Sunday, rigor mortis appeared to have set in Rob and Michele’s bodies. This would mean they had been deceased for hours before their daughter Romy arrived.

Shocking images released on Tuesday show the moment Nick Reiner was arrested for the murders of his dad Rob Reiner and mum Michele Singer Reiner. Nick, 32, was seen being surrounded by police and handcuffed at an LA subway station, 15 miles from his parents’ house.

Police said that after their initial homicide investigation at the Reiners’ home, it was “further revealed” that Nick “was responsible for their deaths”. Oscar-nominated Rob, who directed beloved films including Spinal Tap and When Harry Met Sally, and wife Michele were found in their Los Angeles family home with stab wounds.

Nick had been set to appear in court on Tuesday. However, his lawyer confirmed he had not been “medically cleared”.

Speaking outside of court, defence attorney Alan Jackson confirmed to reporters on Tuesday morning that he will be representing Reiner. And he went on to tell the media outside Los Angeles Superior Court that his client would not be making his first court appearance on Tuesday.

In a video published on TMZ, Jackson said: “Every inmate has to be medically cleared before they can be transported to court. He has not been medically cleared, it is just a procedural issue.”

Asked if the case had been “filed” he replied: “I have not received any file and I do not believe the court has received any file at this point. I am not commenting any further other than procedure of the court today.

“We will be back day to day…hopefully he will be cleared tomorrow and we can get in there.”
