Ringrose & van der Flier return but McCloskey out

Inpho

Stuart McCloskey has been ruled out of the game due to injury, but Ireland pair Garry Ringrose and Josh van der Flier are both fit for Saturday’s Test against world champion South Africa.

After missing the 46-19 victory over Australia, center Ringrose and back-row van der Flier have both recovered from hamstring strains and will be ready to play for the Springboks at Aviva Stadium.

After 27 minutes of the Wallabies’ win over the Wallabies, McCloskey was forced to retire hurt due to a recurring groin injury, with Bundee Aki being named as his replacement in midfield.

After suffering a groin problem in Ireland’s first-ever defeat to New Zealand on November 1, which marked the start of Ireland’s autumn campaign, the Ulster center was initially forced to miss the 41-10 victory over Japan.
