On January 1, RKC Waalwijk right-back Jordi Altena will join Heart of Midlothian for an undisclosed fee.
The 22-year-old former Vitesse Arnhem player has signed a deal through the 2028-29 season and has made more than 50 senior appearances.
Although the transfer is subject to Scottish FA approval and international clearance, he might play in Hearts’ next game against Livingston on Saturday.
Derek McInnes’ men are in control of the top flight by three points, but second-placed Celtic will take on Motherwell on Tuesday night.
