Declan Rice, the midfielder for Arsenal, says he “didn’t like” some fans’ online opinions of Noni Madueke’s signing from Chelsea but that he praised the winger for his talent.
As Arsenal look to expand their attacking options, Madueke, 23, signed for an initial £48.5 million last week.
However, the signing caused a backlash, with a petition that had more than 5, 000 signatures started after the hashtag #NoToMadueke was posted on social media.
You can talk to him about what he’s up to this season, he says. He wants to demonstrate and demonstrate his true abilities to everyone.
He claims that Arsenal wants him to play, and that’s what we want. It is so encouraging.
“I can’t wait for him to come because he’s going to shock a lot of people,” he said.
That is a remarkable trait, they say.
The winger was spotted reading some of the letter Rice sent to Madueke during the transfer announcement video that Arsenal posted on their social media channels.
Rice claimed that Madueke had “messaged the idea” and that it was “a nice little touch for him to join the club and feel welcome,” and that Rice had also stated that he really, really appreciates it.
Gabriel Martinelli will start for the left-hand side, while Madueke will support Bukayo Saka on the right.
Over the past two seasons, Madueke has scored 20 goals in 92 games for Chelsea.
The Gunners have struggled to defeat opponents who have been fiercely defended against them at times, and Madueke’s defensive skills are seen as a huge improvement over the squad as they look to capture a trophy this year after coming so close in previous campaigns.
When you’re an attacking player, your first thought is to go past your defender, which is an unbelievable trait, Rice said of Madueke’s ability.
He will, along with the other wingers, bring that to the squad. Let’s be honest: last year, we had hardly any depth.
Rice is prepared to add goals.
Arsenal have been active in the transfer market, closing deals with Kepa Arrizabalaga, Christian Norgaard, and Martin Zubimendi, with the addition of Cristhian Mosquera and Viktor Gyokeres on the horizon.
With the signings of Norgaard and Zubimendi, Rice is expected to continue playing for the Gunners after the previous season spent playing for them as a more advanced number eight.
“I think the manager now views me as a box-to-box player, and I think I showed off off the back of Christmas how good I can be in that role,” the manager said.
In all competitions last season, Rice led Arsenal to nine goals and ten assists, and he wants to improve those results this campaign.
He stated, “I’m putting a lot of pressure on myself this year.” Because I finished the season really strong at the back end, I’m really pushing myself.
“I didn’t quite fulfill my expectations at the beginning of the season last year.
“I blame a few things on the fact that having 16 days off before the Euros final brought us right back into a Premier League season.
More objectives. more aids more impact on the game. Do it in a full season and give myself some numbers instead of just at the tail end of the season.
