According to authorities, a helicopter crashed on Tanzania’s Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa, claimed the lives of five people.
According to police, the accident occurred on Wednesday evening on one of the most well-known tourist climbing routes during a medical evacuation.

Two foreigners were among those killed, according to police, who were being taken for a medical evacuation.
The crash also claimed the lives of a local doctor, tour guide, and pilot.
According to reports in Tanzanian media, the helicopter had two Zimbabweans and Czech nationals aboard.
At a height of more than 4, 000 meters (13, 100 feet), the collision occurred between the mountain’s Camp Barafu and Kibo Summit.
The Kilimanjaro Aviation company, which has not made any comments on the accident, is responsible for the aircraft, according to Kilimanjaro Regional Police Commander Simon Maigwa.
The Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority stated on Thursday that investigations had begun in accordance with international safety standards to “determine the circumstances and probable cause” of the accident.
On Mount Kilimanjaro, there are few aircraft accidents. Four people died in November 2008, the last incident to be reported.
