With only six months left, Chang Bingyu broke the record for maximums in a season by qualifying for the UK Championship with a 147-point break.

The 23-year-old from China won a third-round match against Stephen Maguire 4-3 and scored the first 147 of Chang’s career.

However, Chang, who returned earlier this year after serving a two-year suspension for his involvement in a match-fixing scandal, ultimately lost 6-5.

Each color is divided up into 15 reds, 15 blacks, and finally 15 blacks.

Liam Pullen set the previous record of 15 consecutive seasons in the first round of qualifying for this year’s UK Championship, which was set in 2024-25.

Ronnie O’Sullivan, Thepchaiya Un-Nooh, and Aaron Hill, the seven-time world champion, have both posted 147s this year.
