Former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Lisa Rinna has opened up about the tragic death of her father, who passed away from assisted suicide at the age of 94

Ex-Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Lisa Rinna has laid bare her heartache over her dad’s death by assisted suicide in 2016. Lisa, a mainstay on the hit reality TV show from seasons 5 to 12, bravely revealed her struggle with her father Frank’s decision to end his life after repeated hospital stays due to an undisclosed terminal condition.

At age 94, and after being hospitalized four times in one year, he chose doctor-assisted euthanasia. Despite her pain, Lisa stood resolutely by her father’s choice, though it was wrought with personal distress.

Speaking candidly on her podcast Let’s Not Talk About The Husband, she disclosed: “You want to support your loved ones. You want to support what they want to do, but you’re going to watch your parent kill themselves”.

Opening up about how her father longed to escape his ill health and dissatisfaction with life’s decline, husband Hamlin queried during the podcast, “He was just so anxious to go”? Lisa confirmed his eagerness to pass: “Yes. He was in pain and he was really unhappy”.

Reflecting on the anguish-filled time before he passed away, Lisa shared the urgency her father felt, saying, “The pills were supposed to come on a Tuesday – so when they set their mind to this, they’re ready – so they didn’t come till Thursday. And my dad was so mad that the pills didn’t come”.

A heartbroken daughter has opened up about her father’s final moments, revealing the emotional and serene setting as he chose to end his life through assisted suicide in Oregon. She recounted: “It was like two o’clock in the afternoon, the light was coming in, there’s a lot of real beauty behind it.

” We were playing some beautiful, also some yoga type beautiful music. But then, you mix it in the orange juice. It tastes like s–t. It’s sour. But he’s got to drink it down. So you hand it to him and he drank it, “she continued.

The process, however, unfolded differently than she had anticipated, taking about” 45 minutes “for the medication to take effect, with nothing” gruesome “about the procedure. As her father drifted off, the soothing sounds of Frank Sinatra filled the room, providing a peaceful backdrop for his departure.
