In the fourth round of the 2025 championship in Cremona, Italy, Jonathan Rea placed 19th overall.

The Northern Ireland rider had suffered a serious left foot injury in a crash in February’s testing at Phillip Island in Australia, which caused him to miss the series’ first three rounds.

Rea’s Pata Yamaha placed 17th overall in Superpole for the first of the weekend’s three races on Saturday, but he suffered setbacks as he twice had to ride through gravel sections before returning to the track.

Medical staff at the meeting had given the go-ahead to compete in the 38-year-old, six-time champion.

Italian Ducati rider Nicolo Bulega won the race, extending his standings lead to 26 points with his fifth victory of the year.

Toprak Razgatlioglu, a two-time champion and defending champion, was just 2.8 seconds clear of Bulega at the finish of the race, which guarantees him a second-place championship finish.

Alvaro Bautista from Spain took third place with his Ducati.
