Ray J, the real-life William Ray Norwood Jr., was detained and booked into a Los Angeles, California, jail early on Thursday morning.
According to reports, Ray J has been detained after allegedly pulling a gun on his ex-wife Princess Love while watching a live stream early on Thursday morning. The 44-year-old American rapper and singer, who goes by William Ray Norwood, reportedly was handcuffed and taken to a Los Angeles jail on Thanksgiving morning. He reportedly had his 4 a.m. arrest and 6 a.m. booking.
According to reports, Norwood allegedly threatened to “kill” a man when his ex-wife arrived at the home to get their children. On suspicion of making a criminal threat, Norwood was detained in a Los Angeles jail, where his bail was set at $500,000 (£37,000).

The rapper went on a tirade during a Twitch livestream early Thursday morning. He claimed that someone was trying to take his children as he said it was the “worst Thanksgiving in the f*****g world”. In the video, he appears to allegedly load a handgun while he said he was going to keep his children a home He said: “I’m in my own house and if these n****s step foot close to this door I’m going to blow this f*****g s**t away, bro.”
Norwood continued, “Leave me and my kids alone, bro, don’t give a damn f**k bro.” After arriving at the house, his ex-wife, Princess Love, picked up Melody, age seven, and Epik, age five. While Norwood accused them of drunk driving, Love and another woman gathered the children, but Princess insisted that Princess was not the parent of the car. He could be heard saying, “Drive drunk, Princess.”
You and your drunk cousin, you and your drunk cousin, because you’re all drunk and alcoholics, you say? Proceed with my children then. Love then accused her ex-husband of shooting her while she claimed he was a “fraud abuser.” The group then started to get into a heated argument as a second, more experienced man tried to fend off the situation.
The rapper allegedly declared, “I’ll kill you bro,” after the other man appeared to be in an off-camera altercation with Norwood and asked him to “chill.” One of the children could be audible crying as the stream came to an end as the police arrived at the property.
For the past few years, Norwood has had an irregular relationship with Love. Some people believed the pair had managed to resolve their differences after being caught kissing each other just before the beginning of the year.
