Marcus Rashford, a Manchester United player, says he wants to play for Barcelona alongside Lamine Yamal, a teenager.
In order to avoid any uncertainty about his future at United, the 27-year-old spent the second half of last year on loan at Aston Villa. He is currently training in Spain for the club’s pre-season.
Rashford responded, “Yes, for sure, Everyone wants to play with the best,”’ when asked about the possibility of doing so in an interview with Spanish influencer Javi Ruiz. Hopefully… we’ll see”.
Yamal, age 17, was a significant part in Barcelona’s domestic double victory last year and its Champions League semi-finals. He also played a leading role in Spain’s success at Euro 2024.
In December, the Portuguese removed him from the United squad before he spent the rest of the campaign on loan at Aston Villa.
Luis Diaz, the winger from Liverpool and Rashford, is a former Barcelona sporting director, Deco has previously stated that the club “likes” both.
However, if the Catalan club decides to move for Rashford, money could prove to be a stumbling block.
The club and Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams reached terms last week, but the agreement is not yet complete due to strict regulations governing their finances. This could have an impact on a potential agreement.
According to the “1: 1 rule,” a club can only spend as much as its finances and income allow, with La Liga setting a cap on what Barca will receive based on anticipated income.
Rashford, who has played mostly down the left-hand side for United recently, said it’s something he’s getting used to doing it.
