Rangers are close to appointing Kevin Thelwell as their new sporting director.
The Englishman, who is 51, has already stated that he will leave the Premier League this summer.
The Scottish Premiership club has identified Thelwell as a potential partner in the implementation of some of the changes following Rangers’ CEO Patrick Stewart’s announcement earlier this year to launch a root and branch review of all club operations.
After departing from his position as the New York Red Bulls’ head of sport, Thelwell joined Everton for three years. He was also a Wolverhampton Wanderers’ former football director.
At Preston North End and Derby County, he has also collaborated with Billy Davies, a former Motherwell manager.
