Due to a minor foot problem, Emma Raducanu will miss two American exhibition games starting next month.

The British number one is able to practice and is soon anticipating a pre-season training trip to Barcelona. She has light bone bruising on her right foot.

Coach Francisco Roig, who started working with Raducanu in August, will oversee the next season’s preparations in Spain.

The 23-year-old Raducanu will now be able to concentrate solely on the overseas camp after spending a portion of this month training at the National Tennis Centre in London.

She can lessen the strain on her body by not having to play two exhibition games almost a month before the new season begins.

Emma Stewart, a former WTA Tour physiotherapist, recently joined the men’s rowing squad at Raducanu.

In the first week of the new year, Raducanu and Jack Draper are gearing up to compete for Great Britain in the United Cup.

In Perth, GB will play Japan and Greece in the group stage, which means that Naomi Osaka, the other Grand Slam champion, will meet with Raducanu.

As the 29th-ranked player, Raducanu is likely to win the Australian Open, which will take place on January 18 in Melbourne.

Due to illness, the 2021 US Open champion had to withdraw from her final two matches of the year. However, she managed to record a career-high 28 victories at the top of the tour.

On December 7 and 8, Jessica Pegula, the world’s no. 6, will take the place of Raducanu in Newark and Miami’s exhibition matches.
