Barbora Krejcikova’s defense to advance to the Korea Open quarter-finals, but Emma Raducanu fell by three match points.
After losing 4-6 7-6 (12-10) 6-1 in two hours and 52 minutes, British number one Raducanu will be left to regret a chance he lacked.
After leading the match 4-1, Raducanu served the match at 5-3 in the second set, earning a match point.
However, Krejcikova forced a tie-break, which Raducanu initially appeared to have dominated.
After taking a 5-2 lead, Raducanu found herself with two match points on the Krejcikova serve, but the former world number two held firm to make the decision.
In the third game of the decisive set, Krejcikova, who is 39th in the world, rallied for five straight games to win.
In the quarter-finals, the Czech will face Poland’s Iga Swiatek, who is second overall.
The 22-year-old, who is 33rd overall, is currently 33rd overall and has no ranking points to defend until the end of the year.
She hopes to become one of the 32 seeds for the Australian Open in January 2026.
