Prue Leith's potential replacements on Great British Bake Off 'revealed' as fans react to shock exit

Dame Prue Leith has been a member of The Great British Bake Off for nine years, but she announced her retirement on Wednesday. Rumors about a possible replacement immediately started to circulate.

The Great British Bake Off has produced nine seasons of Dame Prue Leith, who has judged numerous cakes, and who has also given Paul Hollywood the title of “star baker” for several culinary stars. She had initially accepted Dame Mary Berry’s replacement, but she made a statement on Wednesday evening that she had quit.

She said: “After nine series and judging more than 400 challenges, I have decided to step down as a judge on The Great British Bake Off. Bake Off has been a fabulous part of my life for the last nine years, I have genuinely loved it and I’m sure I’ll miss working with my fellow judge Paul, Alison and Noel and the teams at Love Productions and Channel 4. But now feels like the right time to step back (I’m 86 for goodness sake!), there’s so much I’d like to do, not least spend summers enjoying my garden.

I’m confident that anyone who joins the team will enjoy it just as much as I do. She wrote as she finished the announcement, “I feel very lucky to have been a part of it. Fans expressed their happiness when one wrote, “Ahhh, sorry to miss you Prue!” I appreciate all the love.

But who will take her place? Although fans have acknowledged that Prue’s shoes will “doubtedly be difficult to fill,” here are some of the big names that have been added…
