As Katie Price and Peter Andre’s war of words continues, the Mirror takes a look at how their ongoing row has affected daughter Princess Andre, who has opened up in an eye-opening new documentary series
Telling her own story after growing up in the spotlight, Princess Andre has bravely admitted that she experienced things ‘kids shouldn’t see’ during her childhood as she navigated her parents’ difficult divorce.
The influencer-turned-reality star is carving her own path and recently reached an incredible milestone by launching her own ITV show, The Princess Diaries. Sadly, her success has been somewhat overshadowed by the years-long feud between her parents Katie Price and Peter Andre, which has boiled over again since the show aired.
The fresh row was sparked after Katie, 47, slammed those producing their daughter’s debut reality TV series. Princess, 18, is seen with her dad throughout the show, while her mum features very little. She had urged Peter to sit down to end their feud.

And now Peter has hit back at ex-wife in a scathing Instagram post The Mysterious Girl singer, 52, took to social media on Thursday as the war of words between the former couple reached new heights. He criticised Katie in a lengthy statement in which he accused her of making “repeated lies” in the years since they split up.
Katie’s team has since reacted to the comments by her ex-husband. A spokesperson for former glamour model told the Mirror that: “Kate will no longer be gaslighted and bullied as she once was…”
For their daughter Princess, this renewed feud will undoubtedly be difficult, with her new show having already shed light on how her parents’ divorce has affected her. Below we look at the star’s struggles, in her own words.
Therapy
In a recent episode of her fly-on-the-wall doc, Princess spoke candidly about how she’s previously had therapy. She shared: “I did have a counsellor, I do still see her every now and then. But I don’t feel like I can really talk, so I just write everything down in my notes.”
Mum Katie, 47, addressed her daughter’s therapy journey in an episode of her podcast, in which she hit back at suggestions that this was due to her turbulent break-up with her ex-husband Kieran Hayler.
Katie claimed: “I have worked so hard on myself, also, with Princess, she did have therapy and I know that she had therapy after our hijacking thing. Now, she’s got to remember, this was shut under the carpet, it would have affected the kids when me and Pete split too.”
The former glamour model, who is understood to no longer be on speaking terms with Peter, continued: “Yeah, it was turbulence between me and Kieran, but Princess didn’t have therapy because of me and Kieran. “I know that Pete got her therapy because she was losing weight or something, but of course, I’ll get the blame for that because I always do.”
Heartbreaking wish
Although Princess clarified that she has plenty of good memories from her childhood, she has reflected that she wishes things could have been “happier”, in a poignant confession.
Speaking on her new show, the star admitted: “I do wish, like, I could have had a more happier childhood. In the sense of like, I had so many things on my plate at a young age.”
Princess’ admission comes just days before Peter took to Instagram with a bombshell statement. He wrote: “For sixteen years, I have stayed silent in the face of repeated lies from my ex-wife and her family, out of respect for my children and loved ones, but staying silent has been incredibly frustrating. That ends today.
“The latest comments about my children’s welfare and living arrangements compel me to set the record straight. For well-documented reasons, and for their safety, Junior and Princess came into my care in 2018 and remained with me until they reached adulthood. In 2019, the family courts issued a legally binding order to enforce this arrangement. I have never made this public before, out of respect for my children.”
He continued: “In 2011 and 2015, publicly documented court cases, found my ex-wife had made false claims. She was ordered to pay substantial damages and legal costs, and to apologise, to me and my management. The same falsehoods are being repeated today.”
The Mysterious Girl singer concluded his post by informing followers: “Unfortunately, there are many more lies and baseless accusations I have yet to address. Those will now be dealt with in the coming months.”
In response to these bombshell claims spokesperson for Katie told the Mirror: “Kate is in a much better and clear headspace and is at peace with the situation, this was in the past and she doesn’t feel the need to bring up tit for tat comments, but more importantly she’s dealing with this the right way and it’s now in her lawyers hands. Kate will no longer be gaslighted and bullied as she once was…”
‘Very dark time’
Princess has shared that mum Katie apologised after she saw things “no kids should have” during her childhood. While acknowledging that there were “good times”, Princess explained that “everything kind of went downhill” following Katie’s 2018 split from Kieran.
The teenage influencer, who was just 10-years-old at the time of the tricky break-up, says she and her siblings had gotten “really close” to Kieran and “loved him”.
She recalled: “My mum, obviously being heartbroken, didn’t deal with that in the best way, she went through a very, very dark time, which is understandable.
“Which is hard for me because I was around adulty things that kids should never see, and I think as well, when we needed our mum there, she wasn’t emotionally able to be there because she had so much of her own problems going on.”
She went on to share how she would return home from school early to “get into bed and cry” and that, while close to her dad Peter, she wouldn’t open up to him about her anguish.
Katie, 47, married Kieran, 38, in 2013 but they separated five years later after he cheated on her, including with one of her “best friends”. He was a step-parent to his wife’s eldest three children during the relationship and the former couple, who later finalised their divorce, share two kids.
Kieran, who has said that “nothing ended badly” between himself and his stepchildren, has now responded to Princess’ admission. Speaking to the Daily Mail, he said that the situation makes him “feel so sad”.
He said: “I am as sorry as I can be to Princess witnessing us go through such a horrible separation. Leaving them was one of the hardest things I ever had to do.” Kieran suggested that he “would love to apologise” to her in person.
Elsewhere in the show, Princess spoke about Katie and Peter’s divorce, explaining that she’s “always grown up knowing my mum and dad don’t like each other”. She added: “I wouldn’t say I’m fully, fully recovered from it, but mum is such a different person, and if you put her now to back then, she’s genuinely really fixed herself.”
‘Independent’ from parents
Speaking to This Morning’s hosts Joel Dommett and Emma Willis about her new reality show, Princess revealed she is “independent” from her parents.
Asked why she decided to do the programme, she said: “I got older and a lot more things have come in for me solo. A lot of things I used to do was with my parents and now I’m doing a show that is independent and actually focused on me. Now is the right time because my life is busy right now and I want people to see it.”
