An aunt of Princes William and Harry, who is also the late Princess Diana’s sister, recently experienced a “bad fall” while out riding.
Prince William and Prince Harry’s aunt was badly injured in a horse riding accident, her brother has revealed. Lady Sarah McCorquodale, a sister of the late Princess Diana, is said to have had a spell in hospital following a “bad fall”.
Her accident came to light after her younger brother Earl Spencer spoke out about it during a podcast interview, saying she had been a “handful as a patient”. Lady Sarah, 70, is the oldest of Diana’s two sisters and dated the then-Prince Charles several years before Diana. Speaking to the Rosebud podcast with Gyles Brandreth, Earl Spencer revealed: “Sarah, who is nearly a decade older than me, who was always in trouble, she’s quite punchy.

She’s still riding, and she’s been hospitalized for a while because she’s had a terrible fall in the last month. And because the lead doctor said to my brother-in-law, “She’s quite a character, isn’t she?,” I think she was a bit of a snob as a patient. “Earl Spencer provided no further information regarding the injuries of his oldest sister.
In 1980, Lady Sarah and Neil McCorquodale have three children: Emily, George, and Celia.
Diana reportedly had a close relationship with Sarah, and she occasionally accompanied her on lady-in-waiting engagements. She helped bring Diana back to the UK along with her other sister Jane and the then Prince of Wales.
Harry poignantly describes how Lady Sarah cut Diana’s hair from her sister for her nephews so that William and Harry could receive them both in Spare.
She also joined Jane in supporting Harry by observing him graduate from the Air Force Pilots program while he was serving in the military. Lady Jane Fellowes, Diana’s other sister, recently passed away after her husband Robert passed away last July.
Laura, Alexander, and Eleanor are her three children. They gave readings at Harry’s wedding in 2018 and at her sister’s funeral in 2018. She also attended the unveiling of Diana’s statue in July 2021 and the christening of Prince Archie’s son, Harry’s son.
She was reported to have also attended Princess Lilibet’s baptism in Montecito last March and with Earl Spencer’s younger brother in May at Harry’s Invictus service at St. Paul’s in May.
Diana’s younger brother, Charles, is the current head of the Spencer family and the family’s president.
He is the owner of the family’s Althorp estate in Northamptonshire, where he is said to have hosted his nephew Harry last week while he was visiting the UK.
Charles, the father-of-seven, has a three-wife relationship with Karen, and he is one of his godparents. He is thought to have been very close to Diana, and he wrote a heartbreaking but moving eulogy at her Westminster Abbey funeral in 1997, declaring his unwavering support for William and Harry.
