According to an expert, Prince Harry would break a long-held promise to Prince William if he made the “astonishing” Netflix decision. The Duke of Sussex is reportedly working on a documentary to commemorate the 30th anniversary of his late mother, Princess Diana, with Netflix, with whom he and wife Meghan have a multi-million dollar deal.

Meghan continues to make shows for Netflix, with the release of her lifestyle series With Love, Meghan set for release later this year. Eight years ago, Harry and his older brother William were both in the final major documentary about Diana, which was released on the 20th anniversary of her passing. The brothers claimed that this would be their last open conversation about their mother’s passing in that movie.

However, sources close to Harry dispute his involvement with Netflix in a similar project. And Russell Myers, the royal editor of The Mirror, claims Harry can’t be seen making a documentary about the late princess with the streamer.

He claimed, “I can’t see this,” according to True Royalty TV’s The Royal Beat. If Harry worked with Netflix on this matter, I’ve seen those reports, and I’d be absolutely shocked. Harry and William had spoken openly about their mother’s passing in a statement made by them after appearing in the BBC film.

“And of course you would hear that Harry profited from the death of his mother.” He must have a lot more projects in the works with Netflix or whoever else than just talking about his mother’s passing. It’s not much of a happy-go-lucky look back at her life for a birthday, I mean. It serves as a tragic reminder of the life lost on such tragic anniversary. Therefore, I don’t believe that would occur.

Both princes revealed how shocked and perplexed they were after their mother’s passing in August 1997 in a documentary almost eight years earlier. When they learned that her death had occurred following a car accident, the two young princes were on holiday in Balmoral with their father and other members of the Royal Family.

The brothers’ conflicted emotions when they were just 15 and 12 years old when they were walking behind her coffin to express her grief and how they had suppressed their feelings so they were never seen crying in public.

However, William said, “We won’t be doing this again – we won’t speak as openly or publicly about her again, because we want to give people the other side from close family friends you might not have known before, from those who knew her best, from those who want to protect her memory, and from those who want to remind people of the person that she was.”

William and Harry’s relationship has significantly changed since the documentary’s release, with some believing they are still in a relationship. Their relationship has reached a breaking point, especially since Harry criticized his brother in his Spare memoir and Netflix docuseries.

They both attended a memorial service for their late uncle Lord Robert Fellowes last August, but they reportedly avoided each other and did not speak at the time of the rift, which has so far indicated no signs of thawing. Harry and his father King Charles, who is still receiving cancer treatment after being diagnosed in February last year, also share a rocky relationship.
