In response to its “Stop Exploiting Loyalty” campaign, the Football Supporters’ Association has written to the Premier League asking for a division-wide ticket price freeze for the following season.
There have recently been fan protests at Premier League clubs like Manchester United, Tottenham, and Manchester City, as well as Brentford and Liverpool’s recent commitment to freeze prices.
The FSA claims that the situation is at a “critical juncture” and wants the Premier League to support it because many clubs are currently deciding the price of tickets for the following season.
The FSA’s #StopExploitingLoyalty campaign brings all of those together, claiming that it brings all of the above together with a single goal: to end the concessionary assault, increase supporter engagement, and price freezes.
The FSA argued for improved ticketing negotiations and the protection of all concessions as well as a price freeze.
Before Sunday’s Premier League game at Etihad Stadium, Manchester City and Liverpool fans banded together to display a banner protesting the rise in ticket prices.
Before their 1 December victory over Everton, Manchester United fans protested outside Old Trafford following the club’s removal of concessionary discounts on members’ tickets.
No discount will be applied to children or pensioners, and all members’ tickets will cost £66.
United say the move affects only 3% of tickets.
